The joke surrounding Neymar and his sister’s birthday stems from a perceived pattern where Neymar has been unavailable to play around the time of his sister’s birthday on March 11, due to injuries or suspensions. This has led to speculation and jokes among fans and media that Neymar intentionally gets sidelined to be able to attend his sister’s birthday celebrations.
If you take a closer look at Neymar’s 10 years in Europe, he only played thrice during that date after moving out of Santos, his boyhood club in Brazil.
In 2023, he was out for 130 days from February 20, 2023, to June 30, 2023, due to Ankle Surgery.
In 2022, he PLAYED on that day against Bordeaux.
In 2021, he was out for 36 days from February 11, 2021, to March 19, 2021, due to Adductor problems.
