The Rula Diya Na Bechari Ko meme originates from the 2003 Indian film Baghban. In the meme which went viral from the Bollywood film, Ajay Malhotra (the character played by Aman Verma) said these lines to Pooja Malhotra (the character played by Hema Malini) when his wife Kiran Malhotra (the character played by Suman Ranganathan) starts to cry stating that her mother-in-law ruined her surprise for her husband on his birthday.
