The Kataa meme originates from the 2007 Bollywood movie Welcome. In the comedy sequence, Purushottam Bhan (the character played by Paresh Ganatra) along with his municipal workers says, “Aye, Aye, Aye, Aye Kataa” when they cut down the cabin next to a cliff for its illegal construction. The popular use of Kataa meme is to mock an Indian guy when something unfavourable happens especially related to romanticism.
